My New and Improved Avocado Toast Recipe

See this content in the original post

Because everyone’s pretty much forced to stay home to stay alive, we’ve all adapted to creating intricate meals from our kitchens. Even though I still haven’t baked a banana cake or any type of cookie, I’ve managed to elevate my simple avocado toast. I saw @alyssa.lenore make her avocado toast on TikTok and it inspired me to make my breakfast a little better, and I think I nailed it! Disclaimer, I am not the best at taking food shots. What matters is the actual food, so without further ado, this is how I make my current go-to breakfast!

WHAT YOU NEED:

  • Avocado

  • Bread - My favorite bread in the world is the Arnold Whole Grain Oatnut Bread, but we also tried the Trader Joes Soft Multigrain Rustico bread and it was good!

  • Cream cheese

  • Lemon

  • Sea salt

  • Trader Joes Everything But The Bagel Sesame Seasoning Blend

  • Baby Arugula

  • Honey

  • Trader Joes Balsamic Vinaigrette

  • Eggs

  • Hash brown (optional) - We use the one from Trader Joes.

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Toast two slices of bread.

  2. Spread a thin even layer of cream cheese on your toast.

  3. Slice your avocado in half and save the half for later. If you’re making 4 slices, you can use the whole avocado. Then mash and spread the avocado evenly on your toast.

  4. Squeeze lemon.

  5. Sprinkle sea salt.

  6. Sprinkle the Everything But The Bagel Sesame Seasoning.

  7. OPTIONAL: But this step honestly takes this recipe on a whole ‘nother level. Add a crispy hash brown slice on top.

  8. Add some fresh baby arugula.

  9. For the arugula dressing: combine a tiny amount of honey and balsamic vinaigrette and pour it over top the arugula.

  10. For the final topping, add an over easy or over medium egg.

  11. Enjoy with a cup of your preferred morning beverage.

That’s it! And this breakfast tastes amazing, like you’re eating at an expensive brunch place! Try it and thank me later!
