Stripes and Sunflowers

I was so happy when summer finally came because that meant a trip to the sunflower field was in order!

Jorge and I were finally able to go visit, and it was simply beautiful! It was my first time seeing a field of sunflowers, and I wasn't disappointed at all! It was hot that day, so I knew I had to wear something summer appropriate. I wore my new two-piece set from #Shein, and I'm so glad I did even though I had some worries at first! I'll elaborate on that in a bit.😂 For now, enjoy some nice photos.

Sunflowers

When I first got this red striped bandeau and skort set, I envisioned wearing it by the beach with the either the sunrise or the sunset behind me. But for some reason, I felt like I had to wear it to our sunflower field visit. My only concern at first though, was that I might give off a reggae-ish vibe because of the red, green and yellow colors, if not Christmas vibes! I still wore it, and I'm so glad I did, because these photos are bomb! Sorry just had to say it haha.

I'm not sure how to describe the fabric of the two-piece set, but one thing I could say is that it's absolutely breathable. I love the color of it, and the fact that it's a two-piece set means that I can mix and match it with other pieces I already have in my closet. The top I had no issues with! It was so flattering on me, especially around the armpit area. The bottom on the other hand, was a little too small for me. It's a high-waisted skort with a zipper on the back, which I wasn't able to close all the way through because it was small. The zipper however was able to stay closed the entire time I was wearing it, which surprised me! It's not the type of zippers that don't lock and slides down after a while, if you know what I mean! If the bottom was garterized, and had pockets, this ensemble would be a 10/10 for me! But because the world isn't perfect, I would give this set an 8!

The sunflower field was absolutely breathtaking, both figuratively and literally! It was stunning, yet extremely humid at the same time! Jorge and I were melting our bodies off at that field, and although it was a bit uncomfortable, not to mention all the bees, and other insects flying around, it was sooooo worth it! We went around 6PM, which was perfect because one, not many people were around, and two, golden hour is always the best time to shoot!

I hope you enjoyed the photos, and guess what?

Jorge and I filmed our second ootd video for you guys! Check it out a few scrolls down!

SHOP WHAT I WORE:

Fun fact about me: I don't really like flowers because their smell reminds me of funerals. I do love them in photos though.

What is your favorite flower?

DISCLAIMER: The two-piece set was gifted to me by Shein! Photos taken by Jorge Suarez, edited by moi using my WARM 3 preset. Video was shot and edited by Jorge Suarez.
