Why I'm Not Breastfeeding

The first few weeks — heck the first two months after giving birth to Adeline were so hard for me.

Like I said in one of my Instagram posts, I didn’t really give postpartum recovery some thought, so I didn’t expect all the pain that I felt. I actually still feel the pain now because my wound didn’t close up (yeah, I know huhu), but that’s a post for another day.

Today, I want to talk to you about why I am not “breastfeeding” Adeline. There will be no tips and tricks here. Just my thoughts, and my feelings about the whole thing.

No matter how many books or articles you read on babies, child birth, and everything in between, nothing really prepares you for when it actually happens.

The morning of July 12th, stomach pain woke me up, and I immediately thought, "this is it! it is my due date today after all..." Boy was I so wrong.

My Maternity Shoot

A few weeks ago, Jorge and I woke up really early for our maternity shoot, and I love how the photos turned out!

We originally planned to shoot the photos at a different location, but the place we had in mind didn't open until 8AM, and we were rooting for a "golden hour" shoot. Because we were already out by 6AM, and there was no way we were going to wait for 8AM because the light will be so different, Jorge took us to a trail where he used to run regularly. It was literally 5 minutes away from our house. Though it wasn't the original location for the vision we had for this shoot, it did not disappoint. :) Enjoy the photos!

39 Week Bumpdate

We are officially full term!

I cannot believe how quickly time flew by. I cannot believe we get to see our sweet little girl this month. I cannot believe we're almost at the end of my first pregnancy journey. I cannot believe this! The past few weeks have been dedicated to preparation of Baby Suarez's arrival, and is the reason why the bumpdates didn't come as regularly as I had originally planned.

Our Baby Shower

On May 19, 2018, we had our baby shower and it was the sweetest thing ever!

Seeing my friends and family excited for our little girl warms my heart. It was short and sweet, but everything was perfect!

34 Week Bumpdate

It's been a hot minute since I updated you on the bump. I am nearing the end of my pregnancy road, and it has been an exciting yet exhausting ride to say the least.

Jorge and I are doing our best to get everything ready for Baby Suarez's arrival, and that's one of the biggest reasons why I've been a little quiet on here. I honestly don't know how the bigger mommy bloggers do it! This past month, I've just felt like a huge cow that can barely move. . .

29 Week Bumpdate

I officially said "hello" to my third trimester last week! WOOTWOOT!

It feels like it was only yesterday when I saw those two lines that screamed "you're pregnant", and now, we're more or less three months away to meeting our little angel. I cannot believe how time has quickly flown by, but I am extremely excited to hold Baby Suarez. We still don't have a name for her. 😂

26 Week Bumpdate

Before we get into my 26 week bumpdate, I wanted to share my not-so pleasant visit to the ER a few nights ago.

Monday night, I experienced the worst chest pain ever. I wasn't exactly sure what I was feeling, but I just assumed it was heartburn. So I let it be, hoping it would just eventually go away. 24 Week Bumpdate

Here's my first ever blog post featuring my baby bump.

I'm not sure why I didn't start sooner, but I guess it's better late than never. I know that I will be looking back at these posts in the future, so I will try to keep this new blog series pretty consistent until baby girl comes out.
