The Top 3 Coffee Shops in Columbus
I did some research before traveling to Columbus, Ohio, or how the locals would call it, Cbus, and I learned that they have a bunch of local coffee shops. We all know how much I love my coffee so I knew I had to check a few out! Today, I'm going to share with you the top 3 coffee shops in Cbus that I fell absolutely in love with!
1. WINANS CHOCOLATES AND COFFEES
This coffee shop is tucked away in German Village and it's pretty interesting to know that Winans Chocolates and Coffees was established in the late 1800's! They serve chocolates and coffee and is the perfect spot for reading your favorite book, or writing a blog post!
The service was pretty great. If you are a first time visitor, be sure to ask for a free taste on their chocolates! My husband and I didn't learn about this until after we've had a few of their truffles, which were all great by the way. We ordered an iced mocha to cool down a bit because it was so hot that day and it was good! When Jorge and I were asking the barista about the beans they carry, their bestseller to be more specific as we were trying to purchase a bag, he gladly made us a pour-over of their Ethiopian blend so we knew how it tasted, which I thought was a very nice gesture. It tasted great so we bought a bag of it! As for their chocolates, try their salted caramels! My husband, Jorge, loved their raspberry creams!
Their interior design looked very pleasing to the eyes as well. You get to see all of the different kinds of chocolates they have, as well as the different coffee roasts that they offer. I like that on each table, they had their Columbus Coffee Trail cards, so guests can easily participate. The Columbus Coffee Trail is a great way to see more of Cbus by accumulating stamps from all participating coffee shops in the area. When you do fill out your card completely, you get a free shirt which you can pick up at the Experience Columbus Center.

2. PISTACIA VERA
The next coffee shop we visited sits along German Village's South Third Street, and I think they're the best dessert spot in the city, as I witnessed regulars coming in at noon to buy a whole cake! I wanted to be invited to their party! Pistacia Vera is not just a coffee shop, but they are a bakery as well, so you can expect delicious pastries from them. They also offer brunch, which makes them a great place to have a quick lunch break
Pistacia Vera is famous for their colorful macarons so Jorge, my husband, and I had to try them of course! We got the strawberry and matcha flavors and they were divine! PS: That was my first macaron experience and I'm glad it did not disappoint! We also ordered a small piece of their Chocolate Bombe (the red round things at the bottom part of the shelf), and oh my gosh, they were life-changing! It's the best mousse-y chocolate cake I've ever had, and that's saying a lot coming from a self-proclaimed sweet-tooth! It's definitely a must-try when you go visit Pistacia Vera! As for their coffee, I had a latte and I thought it was good. Jorge ordered an iced mocha, and he said that he prefers the mocha at Winans. I had a sip from his mocha just to check, and I agree. Winans wins on the mocha.... get it? :)

3. FOX IN THE SNOW CAFE
Fox in the Snow Cafe is hands down my favorite coffee shop in Cbus, which is located in the heart of Italian Village. The interior design of this coffee shop is major goals and I took a million photos as proof! ð I loved the minimalistic look of the entire place. It had the most beautiful color scheme of whites, greys, and greens! The plants all over the coffee shop really added so much life to the renovated mason garage. I also really loved how they set up their kitchen inside the place; you get to see their hardworking staff prepare your food right before your eyes, thanks to the huge glass windows!
Not only do they serve amazing coffee, sweet and savory pastries, they have their own merchandise sold in the shop as well. They also sell coffee beans in store so we bought a bag of another Ethiopian blend for our housemate. They have outdoor seating if you want to enjoy the sunlight, and the staff were extremely friendly and efficient. If only I could live in Italian Village, just so I could walk to this coffee shop on a daily basis, I would!
If I were to start my own coffee shop, it would be something like Fox in the Snow Cafe.
