6 Tips on How To Create Your Own Media Kit
I mentioned last week that you need to have a media kit or rate card ready when talking with brands and today, I am sharing with you the tool that I use and what I put in my media kit. SCROLL DOWN TO SEE AN EXAMPLE!
1. USE CANVA
Thanks to Canva, you donât need to learn graphic designing. They have a bunch of templates to choose from that you barely have to do any work.
2. HAVE AN âABOUT MEâ SECTION
Tell the brand who you are and what youâre all about. Make it short and sweet.
3. SHOW YOUR BEST STATS
Show your best social media numbers! If you donât have a big following, put the number of impressions you get. My Pinterest only has 223 followers, but I get 146.2K monthly viewers, so Iâll put the more impressive number. ð
4. PROFILE PHOTO
Keep your profile photo updated! Itâs important that the brand knows who theyâre working with.
5. CONTACT INFO
Probably the most important thing you can put in your media kit. Make sure you add your email address, phone # and mailing address (if youâre comfortable).
6. BONUS
You can include the scope of work you can provide, brands youâve worked with in the past, and your rates! But personally, I suggest keeping your rate card editable because your rates should change depending on who youâre working with. I can talk about this more in a future post.
