Time really does fly. I can’t believe it’s already been a month since Jorge moved to Canada. I remember the times when we just couldn’t wait for our long distance relationship to end because it really sucked to be apart, but today marks one month of NOT being APART and that’s something to celebrate. (We’re having daing na bangus and Coke for dinner so yes, we’re having a celebration indeed.) Happy one month of BYEBYE L.D.R.!

Thursday, July 24, 2014, I married my best friend and it is the best day of my life yet. We didn’t have a really big wedding but I’m really happy that though it’s just a civil wedding, it felt really big and special to me and Jorge. It’s the day we’ll never forget, it’s the date we’ll always remember.

Given that our wedding was on a very tight budget, Jorge and I didn’t really even think about hiring a photographer but we weren’t worried at all. We actually looked forward to taking photos of each other and surprisingly, the photos came out better than expected!

We had such a low budget for the wedding and everything was mostly DIYed, but I’m really happy with how everything turned out. Special thanks to my family and friends for helping out with the decorations, the flowers and the food. But the most special mention is to my perfect husband. Jorge was the perfect fiancé because he helped me make decorations, helped me pick out my last-minute wedding dress and was very patient and loving the whole wedding prep week. Thank you Lord God for blessing me with the perfect man.

I opened my Instagram account back in 2010 but it wasn’t until 2012 that I really started using it. It was then that I began posting photos of anything I found interesting and most of the time it was photos of the sky. This then led me to start going on the hashtag #sky and liking any photos that I thought looked good. I have to admit, I was a little addicted to liking photos on Instagram often liking for hours at a time but somehow one photo stood out to me more than any other.

My day started with Jorge whispering, “Good morning baby! Happy birthday,” to my ear, followed by a loving kiss. I loved waking up knowing I’d be greeted with such a warm and loving voice from the person I love the most. It already was a better birthday for me than of last year’s.
