A nail polish brand that is 10-Free and carries colors inspired by Wes Anderson films? TAKE ALL MY MONEY!

When I first saw Bess & Color on my Instagram, I fell in love quite immediately! From their Instagram aesthetic, to the shades of the polishes, from their simple yet cute branding and sustainable packaging, to being a 10-free nail polish brand, what is there to not love? And the owner of this brand is a Florida local! When she proposed to sending me a few shades to try, of course I said yes! Spoiler alert: I LOVED EVERYTHING and that’s why we’re doing an Instagram giveaway together! But more on that later.

Bess & Color is a company based here in Florida and they carry vegan, cruelty-free, and 10-free nail polishes. What does '“10-free” mean? If you didn’t know, nail polishes are one of the most toxic beauty products in the market and it’s actually very refreshing to see more and more brands stepping out of commercial beauty to create safer alternatives. Some brands are 5-free, 7-free, but Bess & Color went above and beyond to eliminate 10 of the most toxic chemicals commonly found in nail polish making them 10-free! Awesome, right? For someone who’s a big advocate of clean beauty, this brand gets a big yes from me!

Now let’s talk formula + packaging!

has a very pigmented formula! you can get away with only one swipe, but two coats is perfection!
has a beautiful creamy look and it dries really shiny, almost like gel nails!
consistency is a little thicker than your average polish, which I actually like a lot.
because it is a thicker formula, it’s so easy to apply! no mess.
fast-drying
not the most long-wearing but it can at least last you a week and a half if you’re careful.
the brush has a slight paddle-like tip which makes application very easy.
the handle can feel a little too small at times, but that’s just a minor detail.
the handle is black, and if you have oily hands, the cap might leave smudges on your finger when opening the polishes. just something I noticed.

All of the colors I received were pretty opaque. The only shade that I think needs that extra coat is She Smokes.
