August Favorites

WOAH! It's already September! You're probably so tired of reading this, but TIME FLEW BY! August has already said its goodbye, but my favorites have not, and today, I'm here to share the stuff I have been loving!

August Favorites

AUGUST FAVES

August was a month of wearing makeup again, and trying out new products, so this favorites post will mostly consist of beauty tings. I hope you don't mind. :)

SKINCARE

I added two new amazing products in my night time routine, and I found these products to be really fun to use! The first one is the Dermalogica Stress Positive Eye Lift*, which is an eye cream that has a metal applicator. The application is the fun part because it is very cooling and soothing as I spread the product under my eyes. It doesn't sting whatsoever, and my under eyes have been looking so hydrated and nice since I started using it. The second product is the same nature as the first one I mentioned, and it is the Dermalogica Nightly Lip Treatment*. It's the same in regards to its packaging as they both have metal applicators. I love using this as my night lip cream because like the other product, this is very cooling as well, and it claims to help smooth and get rid of wrinkles on the lips. I don't see any results yet, but I do enjoy using this every night. Highly recommend both products!

Aveeno's Daily Moisturizing Body Butter is what my skin has been loving this past month. Every time I use this lotion, my skin always feels so soft, and smells so good! It has a faint scent of vanilla and oats which I am enjoying very much. It has a very yogurt-like consistency, hence its name, and it absorbs into the skin very quickly. It doesn't leave my skin feeling sticky or heavy and that's why I love it so much! Will definitely repurchase once I'm out of my body moisturizers.

Finally, in my skincare faves category: IT Cosmetics Je Ne Sais Quoi Hydrating Lip Treatment in Rose*. I have featured its sister here on the blog before, but I love this one even more! It is a lip balm that helps hydrate the lips, and at the same time gives a very nice healthy tint on the lips. This is something you can throw in your purse for a quick touchup.

MAKEUP

Maybelline has been a huge fave this past month, but the two products that have stood out to me the most are the FIT ME Loose Finishing Powder*, and the Master Bronze Bronze & Highlight Kit*. The FIT ME loose powder has been my go-to setting powder and it looks so beautiful on my skin. It helps tone down the oils on my face, and it looks really good for setting the under eyes as well. I have not noticed any flashback so I think it's safe to say, this powder works well under harsh lighting. The bronzer I have been using the most this past month is the Master Bronze Kit. I love how subtle it is, yet it's very buildable. It isn't patchy on my skin, and it's almost the perfect color for contouring my nose.

I received this lipstick in my Influenster box last month, and OMG, it's freaking amazing! It's the Loreal Infallible ProMatte Liquid Lipstick* in the shade Cowboy. It's my favorite mainly because of the color, but the formula is pretty awesome too. It dries very matte, and once it's dry, it will not move at all! It feels a little sticky on the lips, but not too much to the point that it bothers me. It doesn't crumble off, and I can kiss my husband when I'm wearing this lipstick! Finally, it smells like vanilla cookies or cake! I LOVE IT!

Last month, I received an email from Burberry asking for my home address, and I was honestly shocked! Like, WHAAAT?! FOREAL?! The email seemed legit, so I gave my address even though I was still skeptical about it.Then one night I received a beautiful gold box in the mail, and then I was like, "WHUT?!! It's FOREAL?! HOW DID THEY EVEN FIND ME?!!" I'm so so grateful for all the new brands and companies that find me worthy of their products, and I don't think I'll ever get used it. So thank you Burberry!

I received the box not too long ago, so you might call this cheating, but I knew, from the first few times I used these products that I was going to love them! I was wrong... because I AM OBSESSED! The Burberry Fresh Glow Luminous Fluid Base in Nude Radiance No.1* is the most beautiful primer I own. It gives me the most beautiful, healthy, and glowing skin that I don't even get when I get oily. HAHA. I don't know what it is about this product that just makes my skin look like skin, and it looks like I am glowing from within! When used with the right pore-filling primers and foundation, I am able to achieve my dream skin.

Lastly in my beauty favorites: the Burberry Fresh Glow Highlighter in Nude Gold*. OH MY GOODNESS LORD. This highlighter took me to heaven and back, it's that good! I didn't even know that highlighters could get any better! I couldn't believe my eyes! HAHA. This isn't chunky at all, doesn't look powdery or glittery, and it gives you the most gorgeous wet glow! If I run out of this highlighter, I will cry because it's so expensive! I might create a makeup look using this highlighter so stay tuned. It needs to be shown off to the entire universe!

One word: TACOS! More specifically, Cochinita Pibil Tacos. Jorge and Angelo discovered this new taco place in Gaithersburg and in my opinion, they have the best tacos in town. I've never really liked tacos because I always thought tacos are the hardshell ones with ground beef on the side, etc, that Filipinos make for Filipino parties. I was so turned off by them that every time somebody says tacos here, I just cringe. But one day, Jorge brought home REAL tacos from that taco place, and hallelujah, my life was instantly changed! HAHA. I'm not even exaggerating. I just thought, "so this is what tacos are...wow!" It's so good that we had tacos 4 days out of the week I think. I will have to write about that Mexican restaurant one of these days because it deserves its own post. Forrealsss!

This year's Basecamp was over the top! If you guys don't know what Basecamp is, it is our church's youth and young adult summer retreat. This year's was our biggest camp yet, and God definitely moved and touched hearts. I still cannot believe everything that has happened in those three days and two nights in Pennsylvania, and we are all left expectant for what's to come.

Yes, it was very exhausting, yet so fulfilling.

This picture of me is one of my favorite photos from the first night, and if you followed my InstaStories from that weekend, you've seen a few clips from the retreat. The vlog is coming soon, and though it won't reveal the entire experience, I hope you guys are able to catch a little bit of what God has done.

The TV show of the month is definitely Game of Thrones Season 7. I hate that we only had 7 episodes to watch, and the writing felt a little off for me. But nonetheless, it's still my favorite. It's actually one of my all time favorite shows, probably my TOP 2! I'm actually rewatching the entire series, and I'm currently on Season 3. I've realized a few things, and I can kind of understand why Season 7's pace is a little quicker. In the first few seasons, elements are slowly being introduced: places, characters, back stories, hence, there were more dialogues, more episodes, more "story". But now that we've pretty much learned everything that we can, especially after Season 7, I think season 8 will be all about execution, and seeing how it all ties in the end. That's just what I think.

That's pretty much all the stuff I have been loving since August.
