Life Lately | 13

It has already been a month since we moved from Maryland to Miami so I thought it's the perfect time to revive this comatosed blog series: Life Lately.

My last Life Lately update was in February of 2018 and A LOT has happened since then! I gave birth, we moved twice, and now we live in the beautiful sunshine state. A personal post has been long overdue so here goes…

ADELINE SKY

We just recently celebrated Adeline’s first birthday and we still cannot believe how fast time flew by! Just like that, we have a toddler! Adeline has grown to be this super adorable baby girl and we cannot get enough of her. You guys seem to feel the same way too, and I love how much you love her! She’s the best thing that has ever happened to Jorge and I, and we honestly cannot imagine life without her. She has always loved the camera and nothing has changed. She’s walking now, and loves to give us an attitude especially in her car seat, but for the most part, she’s very sweet. Very curious and observant too! We’re trying to start her Instagram now that she’s one, so if you want more of Adeline, be sure to follow @Adeline.Suarez. If you want to read all her monthly updates on Instagram, visit #12MonthsofAdelineSky✨.

NEW HOME

I briefly shared on my Instagram why we moved to Miami. It’s nothing deep. We just really felt like there was nothing for us in Maryland and when we visited Miami in February, it felt like home. It felt like we belong. And we felt like it’s a place where we can raise Adeline well. So we turned this dream, into a reality. It wasn’t easy, and there were a lot of trying moments especially with our finances, but guys, when God wants to take you somewhere, just obey and He will provide. We legit didn’t have any savings and realistically, there was no way we would be able to afford uprooting our life and planting it in a new city. But we put our trust in God, and He literally made money moves. And now here we are, living our best life, literally. And it’s all because of Him. We cannot take credit for what we’ve sacrificed and accomplished. And it makes me happy when I read your comments saying that we look so happy here, and that we were meant to live in Miami, because we truly are happy here, and we do feel like this is where we’re supposed to be (unless God wants us to move again, but I doubt it haha).

We live in Brickell, which is Miami’s new downtown, and we LOVE IT HERE! Everything’s walking distance, so there’s always places to go see and visit when we get bored at the apartment. When we first told people that we were moving to Miami, the responses we got were “but it’s so hot there”. Guess what? WE LOVE IT hahaha. We’d rather feel hot than experience winter, but that’s just us. We’ve already figured out the best time to leave the apartment to avoid the unbearable heat; it’s after 4PM! I love that we get both the city life and the beach life which is personally the best life! I also love that almost every corner in Miami is instagrammable so work-wise, it’s so much easier to create content here! So Jorge and I are inspired and very excited to work, which we haven’t felt in a really long time living in Maryland. So far, you guys have been loving the new posts so I’m excited to share more!

NEW CHURCH

One of Jorge and I’s biggest goals in Miami is to find a church where we can all grow as a family, and luckily, our friends Angelo and Naz are already connected to this awesome local church called Love + Unltd. We didn’t really decide to JUST go there because our friends already attend, but after a few weeks of seeing how they are, after meeting a few church people, the pastor, it just felt right. They have amazing child care and that’s what sold me haha. I love that I get to focus on the word, and be at peace knowing that Adeline is in safe hands. Jorge and I used to serve at our old church in Maryland, so I’m excited to see how God’s going to use our gifts and talents at Love + Unltd.

NEW BLOG SERIES

Because we’re still pretty much tourists in our new home, I decided to start a new blog series where we all explore Miami together. I will be sharing a bunch of content from places to see, things to do, where to stay, what to eat, etc. so if you do decide to come visit Miami, my posts will be a great resource. I hope you are excited because my first post will be all about food spots! If there are any specific Miami content you’d like to see, let me know by shooting me an email.

CLEAN AND SUSTAINABLE LIVING

Finally, I wanted to talk about my efforts in living a clean and sustainable lifestyle. Honestly, IT’S HARD! It also feels pointless at times because like what my husband said (about clothes that are already in stores), “they’re already made! so might as well buy and use them, and it’s not like we throw them away after using it once”. I mean, he’s not wrong, but it’s also not good to continue living with that mindset. Anyway, my point is, we don’t have to go big when it comes to switching to a more sustainable lifestyle. The little changes DO matter, so be encouraged, and keep doing MORE of these little changes. I’m trying my best to lessen my carbon footprint by NOT using single-use plastic water bottles anymore (we switched to Brita finally), by using only clean and non-toxic beauty products, by being more conscious with our meat/dairy consumption, and then some. But again, it’s extremely difficult (especially when you’re on a budget), so I will mess up a lot, but it’s not impossible! So let’s STOP shaming the “small” efforts and just focus on trying to save ourselves, and the planet in the best way we can. What steps are you taking towards a more sustainable lifestyle? I would love to know so maybe I can start doing them too!
